Albert Einstein College of Medicine

Albert Einstein College of Medicine is the affiliated medical school of Yeshiva University. Montefiore Health System maintains operational and financial responsibility for Einstein.

As early as 1945, Yeshiva University President Rabbi Dr. Samuel Belkin facilitated the creation of a medical program under the auspices of Yeshiva University, the country’s premier Jewish university. Since its founding seven decades ago, Albert Einstein College of Medicine has been imbued with Jewish values. These Jewish values are closely complemented by the medical school’s core tenet of providing broad access to a high-quality medical education.

The medical school’s mandate of accessibility has been further informed by its affiliation with Yeshiva University. Albert Einstein College of Medicine is the only top-tier medical school in the country whose food facilities throughout the campus are kosher and whose academic calendar is shaped by Shabbat and the Jewish holidays. The program is unique for its measures to ensure that its robust medical education is accessible to traditional, religiously observant Jews. Einstein has created a conducive environment for the multitude of YU undergraduate students who in the past have attended the medical school and who currently benefit from the pipeline program from Yeshiva and Stern College into Einstein.
