Isaac's Story

Isaac Shulman

#MyYUstory

Hi. My name is Isaac Shulman and I’m from Englewood, NJ. I graduated from Yeshiva College in September 2017 with dual degrees in mathematics and philosophy. Now, I’m working on a master’s degree in mathematics as well as semicha from RIETS, where I am a shiur assistant to Rav Rosensweig.

As an undergrad, I considered pursuing a few different careers, including teaching, but ultimately chose to pursue finance. YU’s Career Center has been incredible in helping me define my career goals and taking the steps to achieve them. Assistant Director Tina Lin really helped me with my resume and interview techniques. I was able to secure a paid internship at Goldman Sachs this summer, which may lead to a position after I complete my MA.

Through working with the Career Center, I came to appreciate the strong connection alumni have with YU and current students. The alumni feel a strong sense of “paying it forward” when current students reach out and were always eager to assist me. I’m grateful to Tina in the Career Center, the alums and everyone who worked so hard to help me succeed.
