Kinneret's Story

#MyYUstory

Hi. I’m Kinneret Braun from Chicago and I am on the pre-Nursing track at Stern College for Women.

I chose YU because I wanted a university where I could stand out, and where I didn’t have to compromise my Jewish ideals.

Through a joint program with New York University, I spent my first 2.5 years at YU taking liberal arts and pre-nursing courses in the biology department and I am now taking courses at NYU’s nursing school. After I complete my requirements (in approximately 15 months), I can take my board exams and graduate with a nursing degree (RN). I’m excited to be moving forward in my career.

While at YU, I was president of the Nursing Club, where students learn about different nursing schools and career options. I was a teaching assistant for anatomy and physiology classes, and I played midfield with the YU MACS soccer team.

My Jewish studies courses added a spiritual element to my time at YU.I particularly enjoyed Rabbi Lawrence Hajioff's ability to make the material both relevant and tangible while developing critical thinking skills and a strong relationship with Professor Nechama Price in her halakha courses.

I know I’m going to miss YU. My closest friends are the ones that I’ve made here.
