In 1999, he was awarded the prestigious J. William Fulbright Foreign Fellowship and was invited to serve as visiting professor and senior scholar at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Professor Schnall has published nine books and more than 100 articles, essays, and reviews dealing with communal affairs and the application of Jewish text and tradition to public policy. He is co-developer of the SINGWIN instructional software system.

Professor Schnall’s latest books are By the Sweat of Your Brow: Reflections on Work and the Workplace in Classical Jewish Thought, and The Azrieli Papers: Dimensions of Orthodox Day School Education, based on lectures and monographs coauthored by his faculty and students. A second volume is now in press. Professor Schnall has been visiting scholar at The Hastings Center for the Study of Ethics, Society, and the Professions, and a consultant to the New York State Governor's Office of Employee Relations.
