Dr. Abram Poczter serves as Adjunct professor in the Department of Entrepreneurship and Strategy, Sy Syms School of Business. He has been on faculty of the School of Management at NYIT from 1980 to 2017, served as Dean of the School, during 1992-1994 academic years Prior to the career in academe, Dr. A. Poczter was employed by NBC and Clairol Inc., in Corporate Planning and Research.


In addition to teaching at School of Management, NYIT, he taught at SUNY-Fredonia, St. John’s University, Hofstra University, and Nova-Southeastern University. International teaching experience includes ISCEM in Portugal, JUFE in People’s Republic of China, USE in Monaco, and Nova in Jamaica.


Teaching and research interests revolve around Marketing (Consumer Behavior, Customer Value and Satisfaction, General Management, New Products Management, Marketing Research, International Marketing/Business, and Corporate/Business Strategy.


Dr. A. Poczter served as Executive Director of Indirect Assessment in support of the initial process and maintenance of AACSB Accreditation.


Dr. A. Poczter published in professional journals and conference proceeding, as well as presented papers in national and international conferences of Academy of Marketing Science, Allied Business Association, World Marketing Congress, Eastern Economic Association, and Pan-Pacific Business Association. Some of the corporate seminars provided to Sandals International, Ltd, Grace, Kennedy & Co., Ltd (Jamaica, W.I.) and Petro Alliance Services Company, Ltd. (Russian Federation).


Dr. Poczter holds a PhD and MPhil. in Management, from Graduate Business School at Columbia University, and MS in Industrial Economics, from Oscar Lange Academy of Economics (Wroclaw, Poland). He is a member of Academy of Marketing Science, American Marketing Association, and New York Academy of Sciences.


Named “Master Professor” and inducted into Hall of Fame for the performance of his Business Seminar students in Global Business Simulation Competition. He is recipient of Distinguished SoM Faculty Teaching Award
