How to complete your Enrollment Intentions to Yeshiva University

Yeshiva University offers maximum flexibility to our admitted students to study in Israel post-high school, or to defer your admission, or to take a leave of absence to continue your studies in Israel. This guide should be used to keep the admissions office informed on your status.

These are the options available when completing the Enrollment Intentions form within our online application portal.

Shana Aleph student starting my studies at Yeshiva University in New York after participating in the YU SDA Israel Program

Select this option if:

  • You are completing a semester or year of study in Israel on our S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program and will be starting your studies at Yeshiva University in New York

Next steps:

  • Upon completion, you will receive a follow up email requesting a $500 deposit, which will hold your seat and will be credited towards your first semester's tuition.

Shana Bet student starting my studies at Yeshiva University in New York after Leave of Absence (post SDA)

Select this option if:

  • You are completing a semester or year of Shana Bet study in Israel and will be starting your studies at Yeshiva University in New York

Next steps:

  • Upon completion, you will receive a follow up email requesting you to submit a $500 deposit, which will hold your seat and will be credited towards your first semester's tuition. 

Leave of Absence: Extended Study in Israel (Shana Bet and beyond)

Select this option if:

  • You intend to return to Israel for a semester or year of study on Shana Bet.

Next steps:

  • In order to hold your seat and scholarship (if applicable), you will be required to submit a $2,000 Shana Bet tuition deposit. This deposit will be credited towards your first semeter's tuition charges when you start your studies at YU in New York.
  • Upon completion of your studies in Israel and when you are ready to come to New York, you will need to complete this form again, this time selecting the option "Starting my studies at Yeshiva University in New York after Leave of Absence (post SDA)".
  • Failure to complete this form may jeopardize your place and/or any previously awarded scholarships from Yeshiva University.

Leave of Absence: General

Select this option if:

  • You are NOT participating in Shana Bet but will not be starting at Yeshiva University after your year of study on Shana Alef.

Next steps:

  • In order to hold your seat and scholarship (if applicable), you will be required to submit a $2,000 Shana Bet tuition deposit. This deposit will be credited towards your first semeter's tuition charges when you start your studies at YU in New York.
  • When you are ready to begin your studies in New York, you will need to complete this form again, this time selecting the option "Starting my studies at Yeshiva University in New York after Leave of Absence".
  • Failure to complete this form may jeopardize your place and/or any previously awarded scholarships from Yeshiva University.

New Deferral Request - Deferring for a second time

Select this option if:

  • You were accepted to Yeshiva University and have previously deferred your offer of admission and are looking to defer a second (and final) time. This option is a request to defer your admission for up to another year. If your offer of admission has been deferred for two years, you will need to reapply to Yeshiva University.

Next steps:

  • In order to hold your seat and scholarship (if applicable), you will be required to submit a $2,000 Deferral tuition deposit. This deposit will be credited towards your first semeter's tuition charges when you start your studies at YU in New York.
  • When you are ready to begin your studies in New York, you will need to complete this form again, this time selecting the option "Starting my studies at Yeshiva University in NY after deferral (not post SDA)".
  • Failure to complete this form may jeopardize your place and/or any previously awarded scholarships from Yeshiva University.

Starting my studies at Yeshiva University in NY after deferral (not post SDA)

Select this option if:

  • You previously deferred your offer of admission and are ready to start your studies at Yeshiva University. 

Next steps:

  • Upon completion, you will receive a follow up email requesting you to submit a $500 deposit, which will hold your seat and will be credited towards your first semester's tuition.
