Shirley Bluvstein is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. She earned her PhD in Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business. Prior to her PhD Shirley completed her M.A in Social Psychology from Tel Aviv University. For several years Shirley was the Marketing Vice President of the Israeli branch of the MBA Center Group and she acquired vast experience while working as a project manager and market analyst in a leading market research company in Israel.

Prof. Bluvstein’s research focuses on voluntary payments, such as tips and donations, in experiential marketing, with an emphasis on identifying antecedents of prosocial behavior in a socio-economic world. She takes a multi-method approach to her research inquiry combining field experiments, lab experiments, and secondary data analyses. She is mostly interested in contributing to consumer prosocial behavior, labor and behavioral economics, choice architecture and context effects.
