Dr. Kailey Roberts is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology specializing in bereavement and existential psychotherapy. She earned her PhD in clinical psychology from The New School for Social Research and completed her clinical internship and a postdoctoral fellowship in geropsychology at the Brooklyn VA. In addition, she has received a decade of training in psycho-oncology and bereavement at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, supported by National Cancer Institute-funded predoctoral and postdoctoral research fellowships.

In her teaching, research, and clinical work, Dr. Roberts focuses on understanding existential distress and supporting individuals facing adversity through connection to their unique sense of meaning, identity and purpose. Her mixed-methods research focuses on the development and implementation of psychosocial assessments and interventions for patients with life-limiting conditions, their caregivers, and the bereaved. She is particularly interested in drawing on patient, caregiver, and clinician qualitative feedback to optimize psychotherapy for diverse psychosocial needs and sociocultural contexts. Dr. Roberts is currently leading research projects on bereavement risk screening and bereavement care for older adults. Additionally, she is a collaborator on studies related to Meaning-Centered Psychotherapy, supporting bereaved parents, and palliative care in the LGBTQIA+ community.
