Requirements

Major

The major in Psychology consists of thirty-seven credits: Introductory Psychology (PSY 1010), Statistics for Psychology (PSY 1021*), Developmental I: Child (PSY 1110), Experimental Psychology (PSY 2100C), Cognitive Psychology (PSY 2150), Social Psychology (PSY 3105), Personality (PSY 3800) OR Abnormal Psychology (PSY 2414), Psychobiology (PSY 3804); and twelve additional credits in PSY courses.

A maximum of six Guided Project or Research credits may count toward the major.

Minor

Eighteen credits in PSY courses, including Introductory Psychology (PSY 1010) and Statistics (PSY 1021 or STA 1021)

All courses other than YC Psychology courses require advance approval of the Psychology Department if taken for PSY Major/Minor credit. This policy includes courses taken within Yeshiva University but outside of the College such as courses at the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education or at the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. Please remember to seek approval of potential courses before you enroll, as requests for course approval submitted after a course has already begun will not be accepted.

* STA 1021 is a valid substitute for PSY 1021 only for students who were full time on campus before April 2014
