The Business Intelligence and Marketing Analytics concentration focuses on the intersection of business intelligence approaches and marketing in order to help marketers create better marketing plans and innovative products. 

Graduates of the Information and Decision Sciences department gain expertise in many areas and are prepared for exciting careers with business analytics roles within media and marketing firms, banks, hedge funds, consulting firms and sports teams. Our alumni network provides many mentorship and job placement opportunities for graduates throughout their careers.

The Office of Admissions conducts regular tours of both the men’s and women’s undergraduate campuses. In addition to touring our campuses, you might also sit in on a class or shiur or have lunch with current students.

Reservations are required for all visits. To schedule a visit, please fill out the appropriate form for the campus you would like to see. If you’re interested in visiting Sy Syms School of Business, please submit this form at least a week before you plan to arrive on campus.

Business Intelligence and Marketing Analytics (BIMA) Concentration
Total: 27 credits
  1. IDS 2030 – Business Analytics and Programming
  2. IDS 2460- Data Management for Business Analytics 
  3. IDS 2550 – Business Intelligence and Consumer Insights
  4. IDS 3000 – Business Intelligence Project (Capstone)
  5. IDS Elective #1
  6. IDS Elective #2
  7. BUS Elective #1
  8. BUS Elective #2
  9. BUS Elective #3

Please note, all three business electives must be within the same concentration, e.g. Management, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science. 



Information and Decision Sciences Minor
For Sy Syms Students:
  1. Upper-Level IDS Course #1
  2. Upper-Level IDS Course #2
  3. Upper-Level IDS Course #3
Available to Yeshiva College and Stern College Students:
  1. IDS 1020 – Introduction to Information Systems
  2. *IDS 1131 – Business Statistics
  3. IDS 2030 – Business Analytics and Programming
  4. IDS 2460 – Data Management for Business Analytics 
  5. IDS Elective #1
  6. IDS Elective #2

*Students who have taken STA 1021 (and received a grade of C or better) may take IDS 1456. Students who have also taken MATH 1412, should then take another business core (principles) course instead of IDS 1131 or IDS 1456.
