The Parnes Clinic at Yeshiva University provides affordable therapy, psychological assessments and mental health services for children and adults in NYC.

About the Parnes Clinic

The Max and Celia Parnes Family Psychological and Psychoeducational Services Clinic is the training clinic of Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. For more than 50 years, we have provided low-cost, confidential, state-of-the-art mental health services for children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. We provide compassionate care to individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds, regardless of age, ethnicity, gender, culture, sexual orientation, political orientation, marital status, religious affiliation or physical or medical disability. While we do not accept health insurance, fees are established on a sliding-scale basis, and we will never turn away a patient due to financial circumstances. All clinic services are provided by graduate student clinicians and advanced trainees in psychology who are enrolled in the clinical training programs at Yeshiva University’s Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology. All student therapists are assigned to weekly supervision meetings with licensed providers who are experts in their areas of practice.

The Lemle Clinic for Non-Verbal Learning Disorders (NVLD)

The Lemle Clinic is the first clinic on the east coast specializing in providing services to individuals with Non-Verbal Learning Disorders (NVLD), also referred to as Developmental Visual-spatial Disorder (DVSD). In collaboration with the NVLD Project, we strive to make the clinic a center for promoting awareness about NVLD and bringing compassionate and innovative care to those in need. The Lemle Clinic offers a variety of neurodiversity-affirming clinical services, including:

  1. Neuropsychological assessments, including some autism evaluations
  2. NVLD-informed Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
  3. Parent and family support

Assessment and therapy services are supervised by experts in the field. The NVLD-informed therapy services do not aim to remediate the neurodevelopmental differences associated with NVLD; instead, it seeks to treat the mental health challenges that commonly co-occur and promote a rich, full, and meaningful life.
For therapy services, we currently offer both remote and in-person options. To receive therapy services remotely, you must reside in New York State. All assessments must be conducted at our clinic location in the Morris Park neighborhood of the Bronx. If you are interested in learning more, please email lemleclinic@hushmail.com.
