New Student Orientation Dates and Times

For Spring 2027: Move-in begins on Monday morning 1/18 (MLK Day) on both undergraduate campuses.  Parents, family, and friends are welcome to join us on move-in day and get excited about what YU holds in store.

Orientation is a full-day experience Monday and Tuesday, with classes beginning Wednesday 1/20. Expect to build friendships that last, encounter ideas that challenge and inspire you, and discover what it means to be part of a community shaped by both Torah and the world.

Important Information for All Incoming Students

Health and Insurance

NYS law requires all students submit an immunization form to the Office of Student Health. The immunization form can be found here and upon completion should be uploaded within your admissions application in the Supplemental Items section at yu.edu/apply. Please be sure to submit the form before your first day of classes, as the law allows only a short grace period before students who are not compliant can no longer be on campus.

All YU students taking 6 or more credits are required to have health insurance. As such, you can either waive the YU medical insurance by submitting a waiver demonstrating comparable insurance coverage in NY or purchase the YU insurance plan. The form to waive out or enroll immediately can be found at https://www.gallagherstudent.com/yeshiva. Please complete this process as soon as possible. Please reach out to yuship@yu.edu with all health insurance-related questions.

Yeshiva University ID Card

Your YUCard is used to gain access to all YU buildings and YU shuttles, serves as your cafeteria card for on and off campus purchases, and serves as your library card. Please upload a photo of yourself to be used to prepare your ID in advance of your arrival using the following guidelines:

  • Picture should be a front facing picture of you alone and should be taken from the chest up.
  • No hats, bandanas or dark sunglasses.
  • The picture should be taken in front of a solid color background.
  • Smiling is encouraged.

Upload your ID card photo using either the Beren Campus ID card photo upload form (for women) or the Wilf Campus ID card photo upload form (for men).

You'll be asked for your legal name, your YU ID number (800XXXXXX), and the school you are enrolled in (Stern College for Women, Sy Syms School of Business, Yeshiva College, or Katz School). When you arrive to campus, you will need to present a driver’s license or other photo identification to retrieve your YU ID card.
