Welcome to the CAPS Community for human service, mental health, education - a place where you can make connections and partnerships for success with career advisors, discipline related faculty and alumni working within these areas. Students interested in human service, mental health, and education often like to instruct, advocate, mentor, research, guide, and assist individuals and various groups or populations. They are concerned with issues like social justice, equality, educational access and attainment, mental health, and individual and community wellness. They enjoy helping others, working with organizations delivering services aligned with their passions, and contributing to the good of society. These students tend to have strong interpersonal and communication skills and tend to be empathetic, patient, and understanding. They explore positions in teaching, instructing, social work, counseling, the Rabbinic, guidance, advocacy, and Jewish camp and community development.
Yeshiva University’s rigorous curriculum prepares you with strengths that are especially relevant to these areas and this community will provide you with the professional connections and partnerships you need.
You are encouraged to get started by engaging with your CAPS Community Career Advisors by scheduling an appointment in Yeshiva University Career Link (YUCL). You can meet with Naomi Kapp, the CAPS Community Advisor for human service and mental health, or with Jim MacWhorter, the CAPS Community Career Advisor for education.
Should you be interested in Jewish education, you can also get started by scheduling an appointment with Rabbi Yehuda Chanales.
