Susan Bauer

Susan joined the Yeshiva University Career Center in 2016, first as the Director of Employer & Alumni Relations, then as the Executive Director and most recently as the Assistant Vice President and Executive Director of the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development. She began her career working in fashion editorial as an editor before becoming the Fashion Director for MTV Networks where she collaborated with executive producers and recording artists on the overall programming and branding. Susan’s transition into higher education was originally as adjunct faculty at the Fashion Institute of Technology and LIM College, teaching career development courses at both institutions. Before joining Yeshiva University, she was the Senior Director of Experiential Education & Career Management at LIM College. Susan earned her Associate of Applied Science from the Fashion Institute of Technology, her Bachelor of Science in Human Resources from the University of Delaware, and her Master of Science in Education from Fordham University. Susan enjoys being a soccer mom, cooking, Ted Lasso, and doing anything close to the ocean with her dog Lucy and her family.

Todd joined Yeshiva University in 2018. Before YU (Yeshiva University), he worked at LIM College for over eleven years in the employer relations, career management, and experiential education functions. Todd earned a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Manhattan College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Fashion Merchandising from LIM College. In addition to his higher education career, Todd has experience in industry at organizations such as Eastern Mountain Sports and Neiman Marcus. In his spare time, Todd enjoys the majestic mountains of the Northeast (especially in winter), the ocean, and walking around his small town on the coast of NJ.

Sharon joined Yeshiva University in 2018. Sharon began her career working in the nonprofit industry for UNITE Here as a member of the Union Health Center's professional staff, working first as the Special Assistant to both the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer, and then shortly after assumed the managing role of the Benefits Counseling unit, focused primarily on  servicing those affected by the September 11th attacks. Sharon went on to become the Human Resources Generalist for the company, overseeing recruiting, hiring, payroll and benefits including physician certification with individual insurance plans. Sharon transitioned into Higher Education originally as an Academic Advisor at St. Francis College advising primarily first year students, before being asked to teach the first Career Development course where her passion for Career Counseling was uncovered. Over the course of the last decade Sharon has been in the field of Career Services at LIM College, most recently as the Associate Director of Career Management before joining YU (Yeshiva University). Sharon earned her B.S. in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University, and a Master of Art  in Counseling from Manhattan College. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, planning trips to visit friends and family, and watching Netflix and Hulu Originals.

Naomi has worked most of her professional career at Yeshiva University in the various incarnations of the Shevet Glaubach Center. Prior to YU (Yeshiva University), Naomi worked at Touro College, founding their first Career Center, and then moved to FEGS (Federation Employment & Guidance Service) and the YMCA, coaching professionals interested in career change or professional advancement. Naomi earned her Bachelor of Arts at NYU (New York University) double majoring in Political Science and Sociology and earning a NYS Teaching License in Social Studies. Afterwards she attended Brooklyn College’s Master of Science in Education in the Guidance and Counseling program and earned an Advanced Certificate in Counseling to work as a Guidance Counselor in NYS. In Naomi’s free time she hosts Shabbat meals, loves all types of music (except opera), and is an avid movie goer.

Illana joined the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development in 2023 after serving as an academic and pre-law advisor at Stern College for Women since 2017, yet her entry into higher education was as an academic advisor in the Grove School of Engineering at City College. Before this Illana taught kindergarten and prior to teaching, spent time working in sales and marketing in both San Francisco and Manhattan. She earned a BA in Politics and a minor in Business at the University of San Francisco. After working on a local political campaign in San Francisco during the aftermath of 9/11, she moved with close friends to Manhattan. Illana earned her Master of Science in Higher Education from Baruch, CUNY and enjoys studying psychology and hiking. She is the proud mom of three girls.

Beth is a higher education and career services professional. Prior to YU, Beth was an Assistant Director at New York University (NYU) Wasserman Center for Career Development, where she supported undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni to pursue their career goals and navigate the job search process. During her time at NYU, Beth increased career programming for international students, launched a variety of initiatives for STEM students, and developed career resources. Beth also worked at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) as an Assistant Director of Internships & Employment, where she focused on technology students. At UMBC, she built partnerships with a range of campus departments and ran an Intern Success Practicum course. Beth also brings experience with academic advising, teaching and curriculum development. She holds a M.S. in Higher Education and B.A. in History from The Pennsylvania State University, along with a Diploma in Coaching from NYU. In her free time, Beth enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring new places and cuisines.

Daniel joined Yeshiva University as an Assistant Director in 2018 after a distinguished career in healthcare. Daniel came to YU (Yeshiva University) having led teams and initiatives at two of New York’s finest Health Systems. He was awarded for improving the experience of patients, families, and staff, and facilitating critical decision making.  Daniel holds a MBA degree from Hofstra, several patents, and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Middlesex University Business School in London. He moved to New York 20 years ago to attend Yeshiva University and still resides in Washington Heights. Daniel is a creative problem solver: he bought a motorcycle to speed up his commute and ease the challenge of finding a parking spot in the city.

Jim recently joined Yeshiva University in 2020.  Previously he was working at Sarah Lawrence College as Associate Director, Employer Relations.  In addition to working with employers, he also provided career coaching, assisted with event management, and oversaw the SLCeeds Ideation to Innovation program; a program focused on incorporating theory into practice in an entrepreneurial learning environment. Prior to this experience, Jim has many years of experience in education nationwide.  He earned his Master of  Arts in History and his Bachelor of Science in Education from Shippensburg University.  In his free time, he enjoys exploring the great outdoors and finding interesting dining establishments.

Barbara joined Yeshiva University in 2019 as the Employer Relations Specialist. Before coming to YU (Yeshiva University), Barbara worked as the Senior Career Coach at LIM College where she oversaw Senior Co-op, the Career Peer mentoring program, and various events and programming. Most notable was the Amazing Career Race, which she presented on at the National Career Development Association. Barbara specializes in employer and alumni recruitment and events/programming with a focus on cultivating and promoting internship and full-time opportunities for students. A graduate of CUNY (City University of New York) Baruch College with a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration and SUNY Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Barbara brings 8 years of experience to YU (Yeshiva University). Originally from and currently living in Staten Island, Barbara enjoys traveling the country and the world, exploring diverse cultures and cuisines.

Rivky joined Yeshiva University after graduating from the Sy Syms School of Business in 2021. Rivky earned her degree in Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship and was a former student employee at the Shevet Glaubach Center. She was also the President of the Active Minds Club, and on the staff of the YU (Yeshiva University) Observer. Rivky is an avid road-tripper having visited 48 states and enjoys volunteering in her spare time.

After working as part of Verizon’s HR team focused on college and entry-level recruiting for over seven years, John made the jump into higher ed. He returned to his alma mater and spent close to six years at the Rutgers Business School’s career services office. In this role, he wore multiple hats including career advising, student programming, employer relations and event management. 

In the Spring of 2019, he accepted a new role with the NJ Institute of Technology (NJIT) as an Assistant Director on their employer relations team. In addition to managing all interviewing initiatives at NJIT, he cultivated existing and new recruiter relationships to provide employment opportunities for a student population of 11,000 undergraduates and graduate students. He has a sweet tooth, enjoys exploring the restaurant scene and has been on all seven continents—his favorite being Antarctica!

Leah joined the Shevet Glaubach Center in August of 2022 as a Graduate Career Advisor. Leah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Fordham University in 2016. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Education from Fordham University and hopes to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in Higher Education. Leah formerly worked at Brandeis University and is excited to be part of the YU community. Leah has taken on several leadership roles that focus on empowering women. While attending Fordham as an undergrad, Leah was the Vice President of a women's empowerment group called Spire, and participated in tutoring and mentoring services for underserved communities of girls in the Bronx. Leah enjoys doing yoga, reading, and painting in her free time.

Alexis joined the Shevet Glaubach Center as a Graduate Career Advisor in August 2022. She is currently completing her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and will graduate in 2023. There, she is her cohort's representative for the school's Organization of Psychology Students (OPS), and supports the director of the mental health counseling program, Mr. Michael Gill, as his TA. Prior to this, Alexis earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2018, majoring in Psychology and double minoring in political science and art history. After years as a counselor and supervisor at Tamarack Camps, Alexis hopes to coach and empower adolescents and young adults as they navigate transitions through life. In her free time, you can find Alexis lost in a book, hiking in Yosemite (her favorite National Park), or walking around New York City.

Naomi has worked most of her professional career at Yeshiva University in the various incarnations of the Shevet Glaubach Center. Prior to YU (Yeshiva University), Naomi worked at Touro College, founding their first Career Center, and then moved to FEGS (Federation Employment & Guidance Service) and the YMCA, coaching professionals interested in career change or professional advancement. Naomi earned her Bachelor of Arts at NYU (New York University) double majoring in Political Science and Sociology and earning a NYS Teaching License in Social Studies. Afterwards she attended Brooklyn College’s Master of Science in Education in the Guidance and Counseling program and earned an Advanced Certificate in Counseling to work as a Guidance Counselor in NYS. In Naomi’s free time she hosts Shabbat meals, loves all types of music (except opera), and is an avid movie goer.

Illana joined the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development in 2023 after serving as an academic and pre-law advisor at Stern College for Women since 2017, yet her entry into higher education was as an academic advisor in the Grove School of Engineering at City College. Before this Illana taught kindergarten and prior to teaching, spent time working in sales and marketing in both San Francisco and Manhattan. She earned a BA in Politics and a minor in Business at the University of San Francisco. After working on a local political campaign in San Francisco during the aftermath of 9/11, she moved with close friends to Manhattan. Illana earned her Master of Science in Higher Education from Baruch, CUNY and enjoys studying psychology and hiking. She is the proud mom of three girls.

Beth is a higher education and career services professional. Prior to YU, Beth was an Assistant Director at New York University (NYU) Wasserman Center for Career Development, where she supported undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni to pursue their career goals and navigate the job search process. During her time at NYU, Beth increased career programming for international students, launched a variety of initiatives for STEM students, and developed career resources. Beth also worked at University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) as an Assistant Director of Internships & Employment, where she focused on technology students. At UMBC, she built partnerships with a range of campus departments and ran an Intern Success Practicum course. Beth also brings experience with academic advising, teaching and curriculum development. She holds a M.S. in Higher Education and B.A. in History from The Pennsylvania State University, along with a Diploma in Coaching from NYU. In her free time, Beth enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring new places and cuisines.

Daniel joined Yeshiva University as an Assistant Director in 2018 after a distinguished career in healthcare. Daniel came to YU (Yeshiva University) having led teams and initiatives at two of New York’s finest Health Systems. He was awarded for improving the experience of patients, families, and staff, and facilitating critical decision making.  Daniel holds a MBA degree from Hofstra, several patents, and a Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing from Middlesex University Business School in London. He moved to New York 20 years ago to attend Yeshiva University and still resides in Washington Heights. Daniel is a creative problem solver: he bought a motorcycle to speed up his commute and ease the challenge of finding a parking spot in the city.

Jim recently joined Yeshiva University in 2020.  Previously he was working at Sarah Lawrence College as Associate Director, Employer Relations.  In addition to working with employers, he also provided career coaching, assisted with event management, and oversaw the SLCeeds Ideation to Innovation program; a program focused on incorporating theory into practice in an entrepreneurial learning environment. Prior to this experience, Jim has many years of experience in education nationwide.  He earned his Master of  Arts in History and his Bachelor of Science in Education from Shippensburg University.  In his free time, he enjoys exploring the great outdoors and finding interesting dining establishments.

Barbara joined Yeshiva University in 2019 as the Employer Relations Specialist. Before coming to YU (Yeshiva University), Barbara worked as the Senior Career Coach at LIM College where she oversaw Senior Co-op, the Career Peer mentoring program, and various events and programming. Most notable was the Amazing Career Race, which she presented on at the National Career Development Association. Barbara specializes in employer and alumni recruitment and events/programming with a focus on cultivating and promoting internship and full-time opportunities for students. A graduate of CUNY (City University of New York) Baruch College with a Master of Science in Education in Higher Education Administration and SUNY Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Barbara brings 8 years of experience to YU (Yeshiva University). Originally from and currently living in Staten Island, Barbara enjoys traveling the country and the world, exploring diverse cultures and cuisines.

Rivky joined Yeshiva University after graduating from the Sy Syms School of Business in 2021. Rivky earned her degree in Business Strategy and Entrepreneurship and was a former student employee at the Shevet Glaubach Center. She was also the President of the Active Minds Club, and on the staff of the YU (Yeshiva University) Observer. Rivky is an avid road-tripper having visited 48 states and enjoys volunteering in her spare time.

After working as part of Verizon’s HR team focused on college and entry-level recruiting for over seven years, John made the jump into higher ed. He returned to his alma mater and spent close to six years at the Rutgers Business School’s career services office. In this role, he wore multiple hats including career advising, student programming, employer relations and event management. 

In the Spring of 2019, he accepted a new role with the NJ Institute of Technology (NJIT) as an Assistant Director on their employer relations team. In addition to managing all interviewing initiatives at NJIT, he cultivated existing and new recruiter relationships to provide employment opportunities for a student population of 11,000 undergraduates and graduate students. He has a sweet tooth, enjoys exploring the restaurant scene and has been on all seven continents—his favorite being Antarctica!

Leah joined the Shevet Glaubach Center in August of 2022 as a Graduate Career Advisor. Leah earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Fordham University in 2016. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Education from Fordham University and hopes to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in Higher Education. Leah formerly worked at Brandeis University and is excited to be part of the YU community. Leah has taken on several leadership roles that focus on empowering women. While attending Fordham as an undergrad, Leah was the Vice President of a women's empowerment group called Spire, and participated in tutoring and mentoring services for underserved communities of girls in the Bronx. Leah enjoys doing yoga, reading, and painting in her free time.

Alexis joined the Shevet Glaubach Center as a Graduate Career Advisor in August 2022. She is currently completing her M.A. in Mental Health Counseling at Yeshiva University's Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology and will graduate in 2023. There, she is her cohort's representative for the school's Organization of Psychology Students (OPS), and supports the director of the mental health counseling program, Mr. Michael Gill, as his TA. Prior to this, Alexis earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2018, majoring in Psychology and double minoring in political science and art history. After years as a counselor and supervisor at Tamarack Camps, Alexis hopes to coach and empower adolescents and young adults as they navigate transitions through life. In her free time, you can find Alexis lost in a book, hiking in Yosemite (her favorite National Park), or walking around New York City.
