On Wednesday during lunch, some thirty seniors had the incredible opportunity of participating in our first "Names, Not Numbers" seminar, introducing this unique elective class in which the boys will interview Holocaust survivors and ultimately make a movie presenting their stories. We were privileged to hear opening remarks from our Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Taubes, as well as our new Head of School, Rabbi Kahn, both of whom spoke about this wonderful program and how a group of high school seniors can do something which will have an impact all over the world. Following their speeches, we watched a short video about one particular survivor and her family. This video really hit home because that survivor could have been any one of our own family members or relatives. When the video was over, Mrs. Tova Rosenberg, founder and head of the "Names, Not Numbers" program, gave us a short lecture about what this class is all about and what each individual student is going to be doing. We all gained a huge appreciation for what MTA is offering here and we can't wait for the next session.
