This past August, four Yeshiva College computer science instructors—Dr. Van Kelly, Dr. Patricia Medina, Dr. Avraham Leff and Judah Diament, chair of the department—were invited by Gedaliah Friedenberg to visit Facebook. Friedenberg is a former colleague of Diament’s from Goldman Sachs and leads an engineering team in Facebook. They discussed work schedules and styles at the company, toured the facility at 770 Broadway in Manhattan and met with human resource staff from Facebook who are assigned to recruit from Yeshiva University. Facebook's human resource staff provided information on upcoming recruiting events along with hints about the interview process for YU students. Diament was pleased with the visit. “Not only did we get to see some of the inner workings of the organization,” he noted, “but we discussed ways to collaborate going forward, which will be very valuable for our students as they look for ways to start their careers.”
