Office of Sponsored Programs
The Office of Sponsored Research (OSP) is responsible for financial review and oversight of awards made to Yeshiva University. When YU accepts an award, the institution assumes responsibility for the proper administration of the funds in accordance with the sponsor terms, the applicable costing policy requirements, and applicable federal, state and local law and regulations.
OSP takes the lead on the following post award and award management activities with support from the Finance office:
· Account set up for new awards and contract agreements.
· Initiate award kickoff meetings with the Principal Investigator to review the award terms.
· Oversee the financial accounting of awards.
· Meet regularly with the PIs to review expenditure activity of sponsored funds to prevent over and/or under spending.
· Submit prior approval actions in accordance with sponsor guidelines.
· Prepare financial and programmatic reporting to sponsors.
· Perform sub-recipient monitoring and risk assessment for outgoing sub-awards.
· Handle all close-out activities on awards.
· Manage effort certification process.
