Wurzweiler School of Social Work: Where Passion Meets Purpose
Congratulations on your acceptance into the MSW program at Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University! Here are the next steps you need to take to complete your enrollment.

Next Steps & Important Information
To officially enroll into the program, you must secure your seat by providing a non-refundable enrollment deposit of $100 within 10 business days of your admission letter issuance. The deposit will be applied towards your first semester's tuition bill and is not an additional fee. Please reserve your seat within your online application portal where you applied. Upon logging in:
Navigate to the "View" hyperlink under "Actions."
Once on the next page, make sure you are on the "Decision History" tab on the top of the page.
Download the admission letter and hit "Respond Now" on the right-hand side of the page with your decision to defer, decline or accept the offer.
If you choose to accept or defer your offer, you will need to make a $100 non-refundable deposit payment to secure your seat.
If you choose to decline, please indicate why from the general reasons listed for our record-keeping purposes.
All incoming students are required to submit official transcripts from any college where they earned a degree (associate's, bachelor's, master's, and/or doctorate). A transcript hold will be added to your account if the documents are not received prior to the first day of class.
Please note that for the transcript to be deemed official and acceptable, it must come directly from the school(s) to our Graduate Admissions Office and indicate the degree conferral type and date of conferral. The transcript cannot be issued from the student to us as this is considered an unofficial transcript, even if the student requests it directly from the school to themselves.
The fastest and easiest way to have these transcripts issued by the school(s) is through the digital option to be sent to Yeshiva University or gradschool@yu.edu. Many institutions use a third party like Parchment or National Student Clearinghouse to issue official transcripts. Please check your school's Registrar Office webpages for the most up-to-date information on getting an official transcript sent.
If your university does not issue digital official transcripts, please have them send a physical sealed copy directly to our office located at:
Yeshiva University - Graduate Admissions
500 West 185th Street
New York, NY 10033
International Students: If you studied outside of the US or English-speaking Canada, please have an official copy of your course-by-course evaluation issued directly by the NACES organization you used to confirm equivalency to a U.S. bachelor's degree or greater. It can be emailed directly from their organization to gradschool@yu.edu or mailed to the address listed above in a sealed envelope.
All students, whether studying on-campus or online, must complete the Immunization Form prior to the first day of class. You are not required to submit the immunization form if Yeshiva University already has a recent one on file.
Please log into your application portal where you applied to upload the immunization form into the "Supplemental Items" section. For any immunization questions, please email yuhealthcenter@yu.edu.
MSW Live Virtual Classroom and Traditional On-Campus Students:
Upon submission of your enrollment deposit to secure your seat, you will receive a confirmation email of the payment within 1 business day. You will then be contacted by the New Student Onboarding Team about registering for your classes closer to when registration opens. They will serve as your primary point of contact for all questions regarding registration before you are assigned an Academic Advisor within the first two weeks of your first semester start date.
Please also make sure to check your application email inbox for information about your Yeshiva University email address shortly after you submit your deposit.
MSW Online Students:
Upon submission of a student's enrollment deposit, the student will receive follow up from the Admissions Outreach Team to discuss next steps, which includes new students scheduling a call with the Student Success Team who will guide them through the onboarding process. Student Success Coordinators will serve as a student's primary point of contact before and throughout their graduate program.
MSW Live Virtual Classroom and Traditional On-Campus Students:
Full-Time Study Students: Upon submission of your enrollment deposit to secure your seat, you will receive email outreach from our Practicum Education Office with an introduction to your application email on file. They will then send a planning form to your YU issued email which you will need to fill out and upload your resume to. This will allow their team to assign you a Practicum Planner to work with you on securing a placement for your first semester of study.
Part-Time Study Students: You will not be beginning your practicum placement until your third semester of study. The Practicum Education Office will send you a brief introduction reiterating this information to your application email on file upon submission of your enrollment deposit.
MSW Online Students:
Practicum will begin after your first semester of study. The Practicum Education Team will reach out once you are a student with information on filling out a planning form to your YU issued email.
Tuition/Fees: To view information on all things tuition/finance, including monthly payment plan options, please visit the Office of Student Finance (OSF) webpage. You will be able to view tuition and fee information under the "Tuition & Fess 2025-2026 Academic Year" tab under "Wurzweiler School of Social Work." Please note that tuition is subject to change on a yearly basis and can typically increase by up to 3.5%.
FAFSA: If you are a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen looking to apply for FAFSA, please use the YU school code: 002903. Please note that unlike in undergraduate studies, federal funding at the graduate level does not offer grants. Funding comes primarily in the form of unsubsidized loans and work-study if you qualify. Our OSF webpage has more information on annual loan limits in the "Graduate Loans" section.
Internal Scholarships: If you were awarded an internal scholarship, the award would be indicated directly in your admission letter. This is a one-time awarded amount that will be disbursed across your time in the program. All applicants are automatically considered for our internal scholarships by selecting "Yes" to this question on the application and so long as they are not receiving tuition reimbursement from sources like employer benefits, veteran benefits, 1199, etc.
External Scholarships: We encourage you to look for external scholarships outside of YU as often as possible. We welcome you to begin your search by reviewing our external scholarships webpage. This is not an exhaustive list so please be sure to do your own internet search as well. You can look for outside scholarships based on criteria that may apply in reference to topic of study, location, first generation college status, etc.
All Wurzweiler students have free access to our Writing and Instructional Design Consultants who provide support with your course assignments in the program. They provide one-on-one writing support either synchronously or asynchronously and are available year-round. Students can utilize their services to help with interpreting assignments, planning and outlining, following APA guidelines and more.
For international students studying on campus requiring a visa, please note that you will receive I-20 application instructions after you've paid the enrollment deposit. We encourage you to view our Office of International Services FAQs page for answers to common questions. You can also schedule an appointment with a member of their team or email oiss@yu.edu.
Transfer Credit Policy: To transfer credits into our MSW program, you must have completed coursework with at least a B or better from a CSWE or CASWE MSW accredited program/classes where you have not already earned the degree. If the credits are approved, they will be applied to your Wurzweiler record once you have successfully completed 12 credits with us. For any practicum credits and generalist practice course credits to apply, students would have had to complete the full year sequence. For any additional questions on the transfer credit process, please reach out to wsswtransfer@yu.edu.
Transfer Credit Process:
Fill out the Transfer Credit Form top portion through the “Zip” section.
Send the filled-out PDF form and unofficial transcript with applicable grades to wsswtransfer@yu.edu from your YU issued email as soon as possible (prior to the start of your first semester).
· A screenshot of required sections to fill out are highlighted in yellow below. All other fields MUST remain blank.
· The form must be filled out digitally versus handwritten.
· The attached unofficial transcript of MSW coursework must already have final grades listed and not pending.
· Note that an official copy of the transcript needs to be submitted to gradschool@yu.edu if you have not done this already.
Wurzweiler School of Social Work participates in the Career Pathways Training (CPT) program offered through the New York State Department of Health. CPT offers full tuition coverage and comprehensive career support for aspiring social workers. It requires individuals to be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen posed to graduate by Spring 2027 and make a three-year commitment to work at a NYS Medicaid-enrolled provider that serves at least 30% Medicaid members and/or uninsured individuals. For a complete list of details, please visit the CPT page directly. This funding is administered directly by a CPT approved organization (1199 SEIU, Caring Gene, or FLPPS) and not by Wurzweiler.
*Please note that if you are pursuing CPT funding, you are not eligible for an internal scholarship. If you should choose to pursue CPT study and did not indicate this initially on your admissions application, please contact Director of Graduate Admissions, Kristina Kisch, at kristina.kisch@yu.edu.
