by Benjy Bral ('18) This past Monday, the MTA Lions weighed in for a wrestling match against the Frisch Cougars. The match was the last match before Wittenberg, the end-of-season tournament against all of the Yeshiva wrestling teams. As of late, the team had been showing a lot of promise with multiple medalists at the Port Richmond Holiday Tournament as well as rookie-stars: Gavriel Meyers ('18), Mikey Yuabov ('18), Shmuel Dorwitt ('20), and Josh Hornstein ('20), among others. The Lions got pinned in their first match, but they quickly rattled off two quick pins of their own to take the lead. They then lost a nail-biter at the 120 lb. weight class 7-6, which turned out to be the turning point in the match. The Cougars gained momentum and finished the match victorious.
