The MTA junior varsity basketball team opened its season with a big "W." They faced off on the road against the SAR Sting in an intense game which ended with MTA winning, 40-39. The Lions had to fight hard till the very end in order to secure this opening game victory. With seconds remaining, Yehudah Colton scored a clutch free-throw to put the Lions in the lead and then intentionally missed the second one in order to let the time run out without giving SAR a chance to set up another play. Credit for the win also goes to Binyamin and Yehuda Buchbinder's efforts on the floor and Marc Giahn's great 3 point shooting. It was a big win on the road for our Lions who hope to use this victory to fuel the next one against Shaarei Torah.
