Varsity Hockey Dominates Ramaz

by Jeremy Borgen ('15)
The MTA Lions traveled this past Wednesday to Ramaz looking to avenge their loss in last years playoffs, when the Ramaz Rams knocked out the MTA Lions in the first round. The Lions went into the game strong, controlling the ball for most of the first period when David Boim put one past the goalie to put MTA on top 1-0. The Lions dominated the second period also, but the infamous Ramaz rubber rink made it hard for star Zev Markowitz to show his skills. But the captain finally took advantage of his talent on a power play in the third period, scoring a speeding snapshot from full court under the goalie's blocker. That goal opened up the scoring for the first line offense, as Ami Rosenfeld and Daniel Yager both scored within the next five minutes. The final score was 4-0 in favor of MTA. Congratulations to Daniel Yager on scoring his first yeshiva league goal. The Lions hope to continue their success against Heshel in two weeks.  Also, we wish a special Mazel Tov to coach Marc Poleyeff on his wedding this past Thursday night!
