After an entire week of school, the event that many students had eagerly been anticipating had finally come. The first Mishmar had arrived! The evening kicked off starting promptly at 6:15, in both the regular shiurrooms and in the Beis Medrash. Being that this past Thursday was 9/11, many Rebbeimand Shiurim made it a priority to discuss the events of that fateful day thirteen years ago in depth and to learn LeZecher Nishmas all those who perished then as well as in memory of Ariel Newman, an MTA graduate from this past year who had passed away this week in Israel while on a Tiyul. MayHashem elevate his soul.
Although the evening had numerous reasons for people to feel tense and uncomfortable, that would not stop the learning that took place that night, as topics studied ranged from Hilchos Shabbos to Maseches Kesubos. All in all, the evening was a huge success, and both the faculty and students are already looking forward to next week's Mishmar!
