Virtual Finance and Accounting Fair

On Wednesday, Sept. 9, the Shevet Glaubach Center for Career Strategy and Professional Development hosted its annual Virtual Finance and Accounting Fair. The event was attended by over 40 professionals and alumni across 25 firms within the industries of finance and accounting, making it one of the most diverse fairs of its kind in recent years. Alumni and professionals from such firms as Blackstone, EY (formerly known as Ernst & Young Global Limited), Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (also known as PwC), HSBC, CohnReznick, Mazars, Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Jefferies Financial Group attended, to name just a few. A total of 64 students attended, each student connecting with an average of four firms during the event. The virtual format of the fair uses online queues to replicate lines at tables that would normally take place at on-campus fairs, and students were able to have one-on-one video chats with the firms of their choice. For this year’s event, the Shevet Glaubach Center collaborated with two student organizations: the Accounting Society and the Finance Club both provided valuable support with marketing and promotion to their constituents across YU. Each organization formally partners with the SGC programs during the academic year as well, lending their efforts to create both original and annualized programs and initiatives for the YU community.
