Sy Syms Faculty Seminars Feature a Stellar Roster

The weekly faculty seminars at Sy Syms School of Business, organized for the past seven years by Dr. S. Abraham Ravid, have presented a variety of national and international scholars in all business disciplines, including finance, marketing strategy, entrepreneurship, accounting and integrated data services. Dr. Ravid noted that this year, as seminars went virtual, the program was able, for the first time, to host two eminent scholars in a joint seminar: Dr. Josh Lerner, the Jacob H. Schiff Professor of Investment Banking at Harvard Business School,  and Dr. Nick Bloom, William D. Eberle Professor of Economics at Stanford University. According to Dr. Ravid, “they are probably the most well-known economists in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship.” The two academics presented an early draft of a joint paper and took comments and feedback from the Sy Syms faculty. “We were honored to have the chance to weigh in on their study,” noted Dr. Ravid.
