Successful Giving Day for YU High Schools

Thanks to a 24-hour fundraising “blitz” held on Monday and Tuesday, May 6 and 7, 2019, both The Marsha Stern Talmudical Academy/Yeshiva University High School for Boys (MTA) and the Samuel H. Wang Yeshiva University High School for Girls (Central) exceeded their goals for their scholarship funds. Together, the schools raised $653,940, with all donations made during the campaign matched 1:1. Perhaps the most exciting element of the campaign was that students took an active role, with help from a committee of dedicated parents and faculty members. One hundred percent of the funds raised for both schools will directly support their need-based scholarship funds. "Our students are our future, and we believe that each one of our students is inspired to see themselves as the future guarantors of our community,” said Mrs. CB Neugroschl, head of school at Central. “We are obligated to make yeshiva affordable for every student and family that needs our assistance. Our program is designed to take care of all aspects of our students' growth, and we look to our community to help us support each family, allowing them to enjoy the robust yeshiva education we offer.” The school will have its “Time for Torah” event on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, which will celebrate the students’ Torah-learning accomplishments this past year. Rabbi Josh Kahn, head of school at MTA, said, “The generous participation of our current families and alumni is a testament to the value they place on the MTA experience and their appreciation for what they have each gained.” He added that “the campaign is a great synergy of the talents and passion of our professional leadership, lay leadership, student body, parent body and alumni. We are deeply appreciative to all of our supporters for enabling us to build on our success of the campaign last year and helping us raise an additional $200,000 this year.” The Scholarship Campaign for MTA will culminate in its yeshiva-wide seudas preidah [closing banquet] and siyum [gathering celebrating the completion of a unit of Torah study] on Tuesday, June 4, 2019. Both high schools are committed to ensuring that its unparalleled Torah and academic education are accessible to all students. If you wish to donate, click on your preferred school: MTA and Central.
