Conference Addresses Day School Realities

Hundreds of Educational Leaders From Across Jewish Spectrum Convene for North American Jewish Day School Conference Nearly 600 Jewish educators and leaders from across the United States and Canada, representing all major streams of Judaism, convened for three days of plenary sessions and workshops at the North American Jewish Day School Conference from Sunday, Jan. 17 to Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010. They explored major challenges and opportunities in the field of Jewish education. This major conference, the theme of which was “Thriving in a New Reality,” was the first-ever in which educators and leaders from all streams were unified in such a setting to examine interests transcending the Jewish educational landscape. The North American Jewish Day School Conference was sponsored jointly by RAVSAK: The Jewish Community Day School Network, the Institute for University-School Partnership at Yeshiva University, the Solomon Schechter Day School Association, and PARDeS: The Progressive Association of Reform Day Schools. The collaboration represents groundbreaking work in cost-effectiveness and community building among Reform, Conservative, Community and Orthodox Day Schools. View the full conference program here.
