Nov 21, 2005 -- About 150 students on the Wilf Campus for the first time had the chance to eat good food, play trivia, and meet each other at Abigael’s restaurant in Manhattan Nov. 17. One of a series of events sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs that are designed to bring new students together, the “First Time on Campus” dinner at Abigael’s also featured a D’var Torah by Sgan Mashgiach Rabbi Uri Orlian and team-building exercises. “We have students from diverse backgrounds and these events provide an opportunity for them to share an experience,” said Bradley Karasik, associate dean of students for the Wilf Campus. “It was a positive event and students who normally wouldn’t meet each other were able to do so.” Now in its second year, “First Time on Campus” events are held several times a year. Last year students went to a Mets game at Shea Stadium and played arcade games and laser tag.
