Einstein Student Receives Honor from the National Italian American Foundation

Feb 1, 2004 -- Stephen Massimi, a first-year student at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, has received the National Italian American Foundation’s Carmela Gagliardi Fellowship. The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to medical students who are of Italian heritage, and/or have a major or minor in Italian language or studies, and who demonstrate academic merit. “It’s an honor to be selected for this award,” said Mr. Massimi, who will use the money toward his tuition. “I appreciate the generosity of the Gagliardi family and the opportunities provided by the NIAF.” A native of Larchmont, NY, Mr. Massimi received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College in 2001. He is a member of the Einstein class of 2007.
