Holz Coaches Grant Writers

Holz_NewPortrait_300Dr. Marina Holz, The Doris and Dr. Ira Kukin Chair in Biology at Yeshiva University, served as a grant-writing coach at the fourth Southeast Training Hub grant-writing training organized by The National Research Mentoring Network. The Network training met as part of the Research Centers in Minority Institutions Translational Science Conference, October 28-29, 2017, in Washington, D.C. The two-day training event intended “to afford trainees a unique opportunity to engage with established investigators as they pursue research independence,” according to its organizers. Holz and the other coaches led group discussions that provided insight into proposal writing and techniques, as well as a critical review of proposals and preparation to help guide junior faculty towards research independence. A description of the workshop can be found here.
