Students in the undergraduate Torah studies programs joined their rebbeim [teachers] on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Congregation Ahavath Torah in Engelwood, New Jersey, for the annual Melave Malkah, an evening of camaraderie and dancing, with remarks by Dr. Ari Berman, President of Yeshiva University, and Rabbi Mordechai Willig, RIETS Rosh Yeshiva and Rosh Kollel at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary. A kumzitz [gathering] was led by Rabbi Shlomo Katz, a noted teacher and musician, who came from Israel to perform at the event. Menachem Pollack ’17YC passionately spoke about the inspirational instruction and guidance he received as an undergraduate at Yeshiva University, praising his rebbeim and fellow talmidim [students] who encouraged him to continue to reach higher in his Torah aspirations.
