Tal Fortgang Advises Honors Students on How to Successfully Apply for Internships and Fellowships

Tal Fortgang

On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, students from the Jay and Jeanie Schottenstein Honors Program at Yeshiva College attended a luncheon that featured a discussion with Tal Fortgang, Impact Officer of the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought. Fortgang, also a participant in the Krauthammer Fellowship program at the Tikvah Fund, gave helpful advice to the students on how to apply for summer internships and fellowships. He advised them to target their search based on their objective, whether it is to gain academic or professional experience, and provided guidance on how to stand out from other applicants.

In addition, Fortgang discussed the many opportunities open to students, such as specific academic fellowships and internships as well as at think tanks in political studies, Jewish Thought, and public policy. “Mr. Fortgang provided important insight and exceptionally helpful advice to our Honors students in taking steps to advance their future careers,” said Dr. Eliezer Schnall, director of the Honors program. “The students and I greatly appreciated his visit and we look forward to welcoming him again to share his knowledge with us in the future.”
