MTA Chanukah Light: Donny Book ('22)

Today’s MTA Chanukah Light is Sophomore Donny Book. As any rebbe or faculty member can attest to, Donny is the first person to offer help when needed and is always ready to get involved in programs and events. In addition to playing on the JV Basketball, Baseball, and Varsity Softball teams, Donny also lends his talents to the community by coordinating the Motzei Shabbos Parent-Child Learning program at Congregation Beth Abraham in Bergenfield. “One of the main things I’ve learned at MTA over the past two years is the importance of middos. Whether it’s in the classroom, on the basketball court, or at home, being a good person and treating everyone with respect is my number one priority. I am fortunate to have incredible rebbeim who lead by example and are great role models for me every day. In elementary school, I had the privilege of learning from Rabbi Dovid Kaminetsky, Z”L, who was a tremendous baal chessed and made me the person I am today. He inspired me to give back to the community. I have been going to Motzei Shabbos Learning at Beth Abraham with my family for almost ten years. Five years ago, the opportunity to run the program came up and I quickly took it.  I felt like I wanted to make the program really special to encourage even more kids to attend, so they can continue developing a love for learning. I gain so much from being part of such a warm community, both at MTA and at home. I am grateful for the opportunity to give back whenever I can.” Thank you, Donny, for being a guiding light in our yeshiva community.
