Annual Arista Honors Society Celebration

By: Eli Fisher (‘20)   On Tuesday evening, the Arista Honors Society (MTA’s branch of the National Honors Society), held its annual dinner, which celebrated the accomplishments of the Seniors and also inducted Juniors into the Society.  Outgoing Presidents, Raphi Feig (‘19), Yedidya Schechter (‘19), and Aaron Sebagg (‘19), delivered speeches on this week’s Parsha, tying it in with the four pillars of Arista: Service, Character, Leadership, and Scholarship.  Senior David Kohanchi received a special award for his exemplary service to both Arista and MTA overall. Guest Speaker Professor Robert Snyder, discussed his new book Crossing Broadway, where we learned many new and surprising facts about our beloved Washington Heights community.  Rabbi Kahn also delivered an inspirational message, followed by an incredible choir performance from the YerushaLions.  The celebration ended with Dr. Taylor presenting awards to all of the outgoing Arista Seniors and Mrs. Levitt naming the new Arista Junior inductees and officerships.  We are grateful to the Seniors for all of their contributions to MTA and the Juniors look forward to filling their big shoes and making their own contributions.
