MTA Sophomore Witnesses New York History

MTA Sophomore, Sam Verstandig of Kew Garden Hills, NY, witnessed New York history, as he attended Governor Andrew Cuomo’s “First 100 Days” Address on December 17th and met the Governor.  Sam joined Yeshiva University faculty and students at the New York City Bar Association, where they listened as Governor Cuomo presented his agenda to expand social and economic justice for all New Yorkers.  Sam’s interest in a political career landed him an internship at Yeshiva University’s Office of Government Relations this year, where he has the opportunity to get involved in local political initiatives. In addition to regularly lobbying the State Assembly and Senate in Albany for a variety of important causes, Sam also started the New York Political Action Club at MTA to encourage his fellow students to get involved.
