On Wednesday morning, the entire high school joined with students from Yeshiva University in Lamport Auditorium to hear from Mr. Uri Yifrach, father of Eyal Yifrach Hy'd. Eyal was one of the three Israeli Yeshiva students who were kidnapped and murdered by Hamas terrorists this past summer. After introductory words from Rabbi Menachem Penner, Dean of RIETS, Mr. Yifrach spoke about how Eyal was a very talented young man and how his death was a loss not only to the family but to all of Am Yisrael. The audience was touched by Mr. Yifrach's moving words, especially when he read an entry from his late son's journal. He concluded his remarks by stressing how important it is for us to remain strong as Jews and that indeed we were all strengthened as a people by the tragic events of the summer which resulted in an unprecedented sense of unity throughout Klal Yisrael. A sheet with four paragraphs of Tehillim on it, along with the names of those who were injured and remain hospitalized following this week's terror attack on a Shul in Har Nof, Yerushalayim, was given to everyone present in the auditorium.  The assembly concluded with the reading of the Tehillim led by Rabbi Taubes and Yeshiva University Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Meir Goldwicht, and ami shebierach for Chayim Yechiel ben Malka, Eitan ben Sara, Shmuel Yerachum ben Baila, Avraham Shmuel ben Shaina, and Aryeh ben Bracha, who we hope will have a speedy and full recovery.
