Daniel Pollack Explores Teacher-Student Boundary Policies

Daniel PollackDaniel Pollack, professor at Wurzweiler School of Social Work, has written a primer for schools to follow when setting out rules governing relationships between students and teachers.

In “Protecting Children by Drafting Teacher-Student Boundary Policies,” published in Policy & Practice, Pollack details three factors that should be considered in any policy: put it in writing; define what is appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior; make sure people are properly trained.

Instituting such policies “is the corner-stone to a successful strategy to avoid liability.”
