Joseph, Vasquez and Shelley Present at Education Technology Conference

Rabbi Dr. Joshua Joseph, senior vice president; James Vasquez, chief information officer; and Camille Shelley, executive director of information technology services at Yeshiva University, joined Tim Coley, principal strategic consultant at Ellucian, to discuss “128 Projects and Counting: Prioritizing and Shrinking Yeshiva University’s IT Project Portfolio” at the Sixth Annual Ellucian “Live” conference in San Diego, California on April 10. The conference brought together education technology professionals from around the world to discuss effective technical solutions to the information needs of educational institutions. Dr. Joseph explained that they were asked to present because of what the University has been able to accomplish in solving the challenges of managing increased numbers of IT-related projects and user requests with limited technical, staffing, and financial resources. “Facing today’s fiscal realities and calls for accountability require institutional leaders to adopt a holistic and strategic approach to decision-making," said Dr. Joseph. The presentation highlighted YU's IT project review process, which resulted in improved alignment between IT decisions and institutional priorities, a more strategic allocation of resources to projects, and enhanced stakeholder buy-in.
