Wurzweiler News
Note from the Dean of Wurzweiler, regarding the events in Israel:
As the Dean of the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, and on behalf of our faculty and staff, we condemn the terrorist attacks on Israel and on its civilian populations. Along with the brutal attack which cut short many lives, terrorists kidnapped children and families. We share our condolences for the losses. We share our belief that terrorism leaves no victors in its path for its perpetrators and victims. We believe that terrorism is no solution for grievances of any kind.
We have staff and students in Israel; members of the Wurzweiler community and their family members have been called to serve in the Israeli military. Other members of our school community are in harm’s way or have family close to where the fighting is taking place. Others of our diverse school community have been seriously impacted or re-traumatized by the unfolding events. Clients that our students are serving in their field placements have been impacted similarly.
Speaking for the Wurzweiler community, our hearts are with those who have been affected by these events. We believe in the worth and dignity of all the civilians who have been hit hard by these attacks. As social workers, our faculty and students are prepared to help the community, individuals and families who have loved ones in harm’s way or have felt the consequences of these tragedies. The Wurzweiler community and alumni will remain vigilant and involved in providing support in every way that we can.
We wish peace and safety to all who've been impacted.
