Danny Shin, PhD, OTR, is a clinical assistant professor and doctoral capstone coordinator in the Occupational Therapy Doctorate program at the Katz School of Science and Health/Yeshiva University. His clinical and research interests focus on improving mobility, participation and rehabilitation outcomes across diverse populations, with particular interests in motor control, gait and fall prevention. 

Dr. Shin’s research integrates occupational therapy with rehabilitation science to better understand factors that influence movement and functional recovery and to inform the development of evidence-based rehabilitation approaches. His work has included research in stroke recovery, telerehabilitation, neuromuscular function and community-based fall prevention. 

Dr. Shin earned his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from Boston University and his Master of Occupational Therapy from Wayne State University. As doctoral capstone coordinator, he mentors occupational therapy students in developing scholarly, evidence-informed capstone experiences that connect their professional interests with the emerging needs of the occupational therapy field.
