Yeshiva University Program for External Fellowships

Yeshiva University encourages its students and alumni to apply for fellowships, scholarships and grants that fund graduate and undergraduate education, overseas study or travel and independent research.

The Program for External Fellowships guides students in their pursuit of such awards. It also coordinates the selection process for certain highly competitive national and international scholarships, like the Rhodes and Marshall, which require institutional nomination.

Even if you are not among the lucky few who receive such prestigious awards, the experience of applying can be rewarding in and of itself. It can be a voyage of self-discovery and an opportunity to grapple with your goals and dreams. It also provides invaluable experience writing and interviewing, which will aid you throughout your life. Like most worthwhile endeavors, applying for fellowships takes a significant amount of time. Be sure to start early, contact us and fill out a statement of interest (Word) so that we can help you achieve your goals.

It is important to begin thinking about possible fellowships and other awards early in your academic career, beginning with research on available funding, deadlines, qualifications and required materials. The application process demands careful thought, preparation, and patience. Before you begin, consider why you are interested in applying for fellowships and what you hope to gain from the process.
