The Syms Master of Science in Taxation program is 30-credit program that can be completed in one year and is meant to help prepare for the CPA exam, for current CPAs seeking to advance their careers or for people who recognize the importance of tax matters in the business world. The demand for tax professionals is greater than the supply, so public accounting firms and all sizes of businesses actively recruit our graduates. The Master of Science in Taxation program is a flexible tax degree that provides students and professionals with a competitive advantage in the field and satisfies the 150-hour requirement for the CPA exam. This program conveys a basic knowledge of the major technical, conceptual, ethical and research issues in the area of taxation, and provides training in the practical and planning aspects as well..
Located in midtown Manhattan, the program allows our students the ability to attend classes while also being able to pursue employment opportunities.
Our program is for those who have either majored in accounting or have a degree in another business discipline and wish to develop their technical and practical knowledge of taxation.
Location and Class Schedule
The program is offered by the Syms School of Business at the Beren Campus of Yeshiva University. Four classes are offered each fall and spring semesters with additional classes offered in the summers to allow students to complete all requirements for the degree and also for those who may need extra coursework in accounting and taxation to fulfill New York State credit and content area educational requirements.
