ITS requires that all Windows and Mac computers have a valid and updated antivirus and anti-spyware software installed and remain activated with the most up-to-date definition files at all times. If your computer does not have these softwares installed, access to YU's public network and the Internet will be limited. Install and Run Anti-Spyware
Installing anti-spyware software can defend your computer asset against malicious spyware. Spyware is software that tracks your computer activity, collects your personal information, and degrades your system's performance. Note: Windows 7/8/10 computers come pre-installed with Windows Defender.
If you do not wish to install Windows Defender and would prefer an alternative anti-spyware application, you may download and install Ad-Aware Free from the Lavasoft website.
Please note that running two anti-spyware applications concurrently may have adverse effects your computer's performance.
Once you have installed this software, be sure to update each with the latest definitions immediately, then run a full system scan.
