Application Checklist

We've put together the following checklist to help you keep track of the various steps involved in applying to YU. Your application will be considered complete and ready for the Admissions Committee to review once it contains all of the following components:

General Applicants
___ Completed application
___ Essay
___ $65 application fee
___ Official SAT or ACT scores
___ Official high school transcript
___ Interview

    All applicants, except for Honors Program applicants, must respond to one of the following prompts in 750 words or fewer.

    • If you could design your ideal college course, what would it be and why?
    • Describe one time you advocated for yourself or for somebody else. Discuss the internal conflict and/or values that drove your decision to act. What, if any, were the rewards or consequences of your actions?

    Transfer Students
    In addition to the requirements for general applicants, transfer students are required to send:
    ___ Official transcripts of all post-high-school work

    International Students
    In addition to the requirements for general applicants, applicants whose native language is not English and who have been in the United States for less than three years, are required to send: 

    ___Official TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Scores
    ___Transcripts and copies of certificates must be in English or Hebrew
    ___SAT or ACT scores are required for students applying from CanadaYeshiva University's TOEFL school code is 2990

    Please note that it can take up to two weeks from the time we receive a document for it to be fully processed.
