Catherine DeLazzero teaches first year writing and business communication for the Associate of Science in Management at The Katz School. Catherine has over a decade of experience teaching writing and developing writing centers and writing enrichment programs at secondary and postsecondary levels. Her current research focuses on the impacts of writing assessment in NYC schools, students’ diverse approaches to writing, and ways to support students in writing about trauma. In addition, Catherine is a member of the Fulbright Specialist Roster, a writing mentor for PEN America’s Prison Writing Program, and a member of Community Board 7/Manhattan, where she serves as Co-Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee.

Student writing, writing pedagogy, writing research, writing assessment, teacher education, educational opportunity and access, diversity and universal design for inclusion.
