What and Where is the Writing Center?

The Writing Center is a place where students can receive free one-to-one tutoring on all types of writing, from composition essays and graduate school applications to marketing papers and lab reports.

The Writing Center offers hour-long appointments and is open Sunday-Friday during the academic year. Check our online schedule for specific appointment times.

What will tutors do for you?

• Our tutors will help you with any type of writing assignment at any point in the writing process. We can offer you support in generating and clarifying your ideas, developing arguments, locating evidence, consolidating conclusions, and developing cohesive structure.
• Tutors will enable you to hone and develop your own thinking and writing skills.
• Tutors will help you feel more comfortable with the writing process.
• Tutors are available to meet with you for a regular weekly appointment throughout the semester. If you are interested in signing up for a weekly appointment, please speak to a Writing Center staff member.
