    Applying to the Syms EMBA Program

    Do I need to take the GMAT?
    No, the GMAT is not required if you have a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.  Anyone who has a degree that does not meet that criteria must take the GMAT and score a minimum of 500.

    If I have fewer than seven years' work experience, can I still apply for the EMBA program?
    While the program is geared for those with at least seven years of experience, we will consider on an individual basis applications with fewer than six years of experience based on the specific experience provided.

    What does the committee look for in an applicant?
    The committee looks for candidates who are high-potential managers on a fast track toward challenging senior management roles with a demonstrated commitment to leadership grounded in ethics.

    Can I submit additional information?
    Yes, if you believe the additional information provides insight into your experience and potential.

    Are the requirements different for an international student?
    Students educated outside the United States must have their transcripts evaluated by World Education Services. You may contact World Education Services at www.wes.org.

    If your undergraduate work is in a language other than English, then you must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam and receive a score of at least 100 on the Web-based exam. To have your test score reported to the Syms School of Business, you must use test code 4462. Further information on the TOEFL is available at www.toefl.org.

    The Syms EMBA program does not provide visa eligibility. Therefore students are responsible for determining if they have the proper visa status for the duration of the program.

    What is the application deadline?
    April 30.

    How long do I have to wait until I receive a decision?
    Once your application is complete, you will be notified by our office. We will then set up an interview and three to six weeks after your interview, you will be notified by mail of our decision.

    Program Specifics

    How many credits is the EMBA program?
    The program is 48 credits.

    How long will the program take to complete?
    The program is 22 months long with classes held on Sundays and one Thursday night a month.

    Where is the program located?
    Classes will be held at the Syms School of Business’ Beren Campus located in midtown Manhattan at 245 Lexington Avenue off of 34th Street.

    Do I have to be Jewish to attend this program?
    No. Yeshiva University welcomes applicants from a diverse population.

    Am I allowed to transfer credits from another MBA program?
    No.

    Financial Assistance and Payments

    Is financial aid available?
    The Yeshiva University Office of Student Finance will be happy to assist you with information regarding federal loan programs.

    What is sponsorship?
    Employers may sponsor all or part of the tuition as part of their benefits package. Applicants are encouraged to speak with their employer to determine if this benefit is available.

    What is the schedule of payments?
    The total cost of the program is $78,000. You will be billed over the course of six semesters (fall, spring, summer, fall, spring, summer) with payment due by the beginning of each semester.

    Residencies and Career Guidance

    Are the residencies required?
    Yes, you will be required to attend the 2 ½-3 day orientation in the New York, a 5-day residency in International Business during the first summer, and an 8-10 day International Residency in Israel during the second summer.

    Will I be able to receive any career guidance or support?
    Yes. Each student will have access to individual career coaching for eight sessions over the course of a year from a specialist in the field of career coaching and guidance.
