    BROOKDALE PARKING:

Last fall, the New York City Department of Transportation, revamped the traffic lanes on East 34 Street. They created a Bus Lane and removed the Parking Lane, which is now a Traffic Lane. These regulations are in effect daily from 7AM thru 7 PM. Previously, there was a time frame during the day in which we would receive relaxed parking enforcement from the New York City Police Department. Those periods were after the rush hours (10 AM thru 4 PM and 7 PM thru 12AM). As in the past, we will request relaxed parking enforcement from Thursday, August 25, 2011 through Tuesday, August 30, 2011. As of this date, there is no indication if the Police Dept. will honor this request. It is suggested that incoming students be prepared to unload their vehicles expeditiously and remove the vehicle from East 34th Street. -Department of Security and Safety

The New York City Police Department enforces "No Standing" and No Parking regulations on 34th Street, whether the vehicle is attended to or not. If a vehicle is left unattended in a "No Standing" area, you will be subject to receiving a summons and the possibility of your car being towed.

However, special arrangements have been requested with the Police Department to allow unloading of attended vehicles on the south side of 34thStreet, between Madison & Park Avenues (dormitory side of street) on the following days and times only:
    Sunday, August 23rd 7:30am - Midnight
    Monday, August 24th 10 am - 4pm and 7pm - midnight
    Tuesday, August 25th 10 am - 4pm and 7pm - midnight

For those checking in on Sunday, parking is also permitted on streets in the vicinity of 34th Street. (i.e. 33rd, 32nd, 35th & 36th Streets between 5th and Park Avenues.)

If you are unable to find street parking on Sunday or are checking in on any other day and are interested in parking your car, noted below are parking garages in the vicinity of Brookdale Residence Hall.
