Mission Statement

The SCW Future Fund (“the Future Fund”) has been established by the alumnae of Stern College for Women and the women of the Sy Syms School of Business as an act of hakarat ha-tov (expression of appreciation) to our alma mater. Our goal is to create a partnership between the past and the future by giving alumnae the opportunity to perpetuate an enduring commitment to excellence in women’s education. The long-term expectation is that the growth of this investment will be used to help make a significant contribution, in 10 to 25 years, to the Stern College of our daughters, sisters, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, and friends. Through the Future Fund we hope to inspire excellence in women’s leadership and insure a vibrant future for the next generation of Stern College students.

Purpose

The purpose of the SCW Future Fund is to create a venue for alumnae to give to Stern at any level. Each contribution can make a significant impact. The Future Fund will be seeded by initial raised capital targeted at $180,000 or more, which is to be sourced from alumnae, their families, friends, and the SCW Board. We anticipate managing a long-term portfolio of invested capital over 10 to 25 years, during which time the fund will grow to significant value. At the completion of the investment period, the accrued value of the fund will be provided as a gift or gifts to Stern College.
