Director Ruth A. Bevan
Dr. Bevan is David W. Petegorsky
Professor of Political Science at Yeshiva College. She specializes in
European politics and contemporary political theory. Most recently she
has published on the European Union and globalization. She has received
awards from the Fulbright Commission and the National Endowment of the
Humanities. She pursued graduate studies at the University of Freiburg,
Germany as a fellow of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).and
completed her Ph.D. at New York University, writing a comparative study
on the relevance of Marx and Burke to 20th century politics. She was a
National Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University. During
the Gorbachev years, she visited and brought supplies to refuseniks in
the Soviet Union. She received an Irex (State Dept.) grant to interview
Bulgarian Jews who were saved during the Holocaust. She has lectured
extensively at colleges, synagogues and civic organizations on themes
related to world politics.

Steven Buchwald - Assistant Director
Steven, originally from Paris, France, joined Yeshiva University in 2007. He is currently pursuing a dual degree in Judaic studies, and Marketing with a minor in Political Science. Steven's great interest in international relations, political theory, and law lead him to take an active role on campus. Initially Vice President of the J.DunnerPolitical Science Society, he was eventually elected President in 2010. Steven is currently a fellow at the Center for Jewish Civilization of Cardozo School of Law. He would like to study the interplay of intellectual property and international law in the next years.
Shoshana Arnow - Junior Member
Shoshana
grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio she is now a senior at Stern College of
Yeshiva University double majoring in International Relations and Judaic
Studies. During her junior year, she was an intern for the American
Jewish Committee and was appointed to the Women's Leadership Fellowship.
Shoshana is currently the president of the J. Dunner
Political Science Society,the Vice President of the Russian club, and
committee head of the Jewish Scholarship Series. She lobbied at many
AIPAC conventions in Washington as a representative of both her high
school and university. She continues to attend AIPAC policy conferences
in Washington from high school as well as college trips. Her aspirations
are to pursue a career in diplomacy specializing in the Middle East.
Shimon Fried – Junior Member
Shimon Fried is a junior at Yeshiva University, majoring in Information and Decision Systems and minoring in Film and Political Science. He is currently an event photographer at Yeshiva University, in addition to working at YU's Information Technology Services department. Shimon’s past work includes teaching a film course at the Jewish Museum and producing promotional videos for summer camps. He also runs an event and novelty photography called FriedFoto. Some of his event photography clients include Yeshiva University, The David Project, Stand With Us, Camp Regesh. Shimon has worked with many prominent event photographers in the New York area.
Jesse Katz- Junior Member
Jesse is currently a Junior at Yeshiva University majoring in Economics and minoring in Political Science. In addition to interning for the Schneier Center, he is currently the Vice-President of the Yeshiva Student Union, and mentor for the Peer-to-Peer mentoring program at Yeshiva University
