 Students Need their Parents
Your children have settled into college life. They are out of the house, living on campus, studying, pursuing their social lives, and working toward their choice of career.

They are older and seeking more independence and control over their own lives. But where does parenting fit into the equation with these busy and independent minded college students?

Beren Campus
Midtown Manhattan boasts a world class selection of almost everything. Near the Beren Campus one can find a variety of kosher restaurants including Mendy's (meat) on 34th Street between Park Avenue and Madison Avenue and Circa (dairy) on 33rd Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. Aderet El Synagogue is frequented by Stern College and Sy Syms students and is located on 29th Street between Lexington Avenue and 3rd Avenue.

There are a number of hotels in the area. Mass transit is easily accessible, as the women's undergraduate campus is in close proximity to the 6, B, F, Q, W, N and R trains, Penn Station, Grand Central Station, and the Port Authority.

Wilf Campus
The Wilf Campus in Washington Heights is reachable by the 1, 9, or A trains. Featured along Amsterdam Avenue are numerous kosher eateries including pizza, Israeli, and dairy cuisine.

The various Yeshiva University buildings have minyanim throughout the day and on Shabbat, accommodating nearly everyone's busy schedule.

 Life in NYC
Living and studying in the cultural capital of the world is an invaluable enhancement to any education. New York and its five boroughs offer experiences unlike any other city in the world: from Carnegie Hall to Yankee Stadium; from the Metropolitan Museum of Art to the Empire State Building; from the Lower East Side to the Upper West Side; from Harlem to Wall Street.

 Public Safety

At Yeshiva University, we consider the safety and well-being of our students to our top priority.

Both our Wilf Campus in Washington Heights and our Beren Campus in Midtown Manhattan are staffed by Burns Security guards. Guards are posted in all YU buildings as well as in security booths around campus. No one without a valid Yeshiva University ID or guest pass is allowed into school buildings or dormitories. Security guards are also available on request to escort students between school buildings.

 AlertFind: Yeshiva University Alert System

In the event of an emergency, we'd like to reach you as quickly as possible, wherever you may be. Yeshiva University has implemented a text- and voice-messaging emergency alert system (AlertFind) that will be used as an important means of providing emergency alerts, timely warnings, and notification of major campus or facility shutdowns. AlertFind will not be used for general announcements – only issues presenting a threat to community safety or situations that require time-sensitive distribution of information.

Students are urged to register their cell phone or SMS (short message service), text device, BlackBerry and even land-line home phone with the service. AlertFind allows you to register multiple devices, and you can be notified at different locations via different devices simultaneously.

Parents who wish to receive notifications through the AlertFind system should have their contact information ad ded to their child's registered account, as YU student accounts allow for multiple contact numbers. Parents cannot register with the system directly as security requires an active YU email account. Please en courage your daughter or son to register and to include your contact number.
